Government

Government refers to the structured system or organization through which a community, state, or nation is governed. It encompasses the institutions, policies, and processes that administer public affairs, make and enforce laws, and manage resources and services for the population. Governments operate at various levels, such as local, regional, and national, and can vary in their form, including democracies, monarchies, autocracies, and more. The primary functions of government include maintaining order, providing public goods and services, protecting individual rights, and making decisions on issues affecting the society. Through various branches—typically the executive, legislative, and judicial—governments ensure the rule of law and democratic governance, if applicable, while also representing the interests and will of the people.
