Football

Football, known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using any part of the body except the hands and arms, with the exception of the goalkeepers who are allowed to use their hands within their penalty area. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Matches are typically divided into two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a half-time break in between. Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

Football is one of the most popular sports globally, with millions of fans and players, and it is characterized by its skills, tactics, and teamwork. It is played at various levels, from amateur to professional, and is showcased in major tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup and continental leagues. The sport emphasizes physical endurance, strategic planning, and collaboration among players.
